DSNAKE COMPACT
DSnake Compact is a flexible I/O unit for the DSnake Audio Over Ethernet system, consisting of a single rack unit chassis that has 8 I/O slots and can handle up to 64 audio channels.
Both analog (line) and digital (AES/EBU) I/O options are available.
Because of its small size and high channel density, the DSnake Compact is ideal to sit next to the mixing desk in a digital snake system.
System management can be done through any Ethernet or RS-232 serial port using DSPRO DSManager software (Mac or Windows).

Live Festivals
In the technical preparation of a festival, time is a decisive factor for success. Changing bands both in soundcheck and in concert requires a simple and intuitive operation.
Serving raiders from different bands implies having multiple consoles both in the monitor and in the house mix – combining different manufacturers and analog and digital systems.
To minimize cabling changes, splitters are used to connect the consoles. Still, the return from the PA to the stage also needs to be changed according to the console used.
Streaming the festival live with a specific mix implies new splitters and additional cables. At all points it is important that the audio does not stop under any circumstances.
DSnake equipment offers an optimal solution for this application, as shown in the diagram below:
Digital Snake for PA
The DSnake line is designed for digital multi-cables.
With the DSPRO protocol, the heavy analog multi-cables can be replaced by CAT5 digital cables, making it easier and faster to set up your show.
With the conversion to digital taking place on stage, all the noise resulting from the long stretches of analog cables are suppressed, allowing countless splits to be performed without interference in the audio as they are done digitally.
In this example, two DSnake Modulars on the stage and one DSnake C64R next to each mixer are used as a 56-way digital multi-cable of “sends” and eight “returns” from the House to the stage.

Sports Broadcasting
Long distance coverage without loss of signal quality, as well as the practicality of the Ethernet cable and the digital split make the DSnake ideal for use in mobile units. Using Ethernet electro-optical converters it is possible to use optical fibers covering distances of tens of kilometers!
In a typical case of broadcasting a football game, DSnake can be used to transport the microphone signals from the field and cabin to a mobile unit.
Since traffic on the Ethernet cable is bidirectional, no additional cabling is required to send the return channels from the mobile unit to the cabin and to the field.
Benefits:
- Lightweight and compact system, easy to install
- Audio immune to interference and AC differences
- Lossless digital transmission (optical or electrical)
- Analog or AES/EBU outputs
Broadcast Studio
DSPRO offers software systems with specific interfaces, adapted to customer needs. The main advantages include:
Simplified installation and maintenance, using CAT5 cable.
- Mapping from any input to any audio output on the system.
- Smart patch settings, loaded at the touch of a button, for patching.
- Audio playback systems, reporters, phone lines and studios can be quickly switched into production through a single interface.
- Interface conversion included. It doesn’t matter if your input or output is digital or analog — they can all be freely mapped.
