New Etherface Driver With Apple Silicon Support
Etherface Driver version 3.0 for macOS is now available, featuring Apple Silicon (M1, M2) support.
The driver supports macOS versions 10.14.6 (Mojave) to 13 (Ventura).
Apple Silicon Macs have a distinct policy regarding kernel extensions, which requires the user to perform the following one-time setup before installing the driver:
- Reboot the Mac into Recovery mode (by holding the power button during startup)
- Enter the Startup Security Utility and set the security level to Reduced security
- Ensure option “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” is checked
- Reboot back to macOS and install Etherface Driver as normal
In both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs there is and extra action required from the user after the installation is complete. According to Apple policy, this action must be performed within 30 minutes after the installation, otherwise the driver will have to be reinstalled:
- Open the Security & Privacy System Preferences
- Authenticate to make changes
- Allow the system to load system software from “DS Pro Audio Ltda – EPP”
- Reboot to make the driver available to the system
The driver installer is available at the Download section of the Etherface product page.
